Summer Sky is the first book I've read by author Lisa Swallow and will not be the last. I could tell the first page in I was gonna enjoy this book and that's pretty hard to do. Pull a reader in from the first page! It was Lisa's writing style that hooked me. I could tell from the very beginning I was gonna enjoy this book and I did. The only bad thing really was it has a cliffhanger, so you have to read the other books to finish up the story. However, if the book is written well enough and I get hooked into the story I will venture on. So I have a feeling I will be spending a lot of time finishing up this story. Especially with the cliffhanger it left you with! WTF! I can't say I seen that one coming at all! I suspect everything is not as black and white as it seems, and I will be reading on to find out what happens.

This book is about Sky and Dylan.
Sky finds out her boyfriend of 5 years has been cheating on her and retreats to her Grans beach house, where she spent summers as a kid. The beach house is Sky's happy place. Where better to get away from it all and collect herself? Only to find out that she isn't alone and there's been a mix up. Dylan Morgan the famous rock star has rented out the beach house for a month. Now what?
Dylan the lead singer from Blue Phoenix has just about had all that he can handle from all the drama going on with his band and decides to take off for a month without letting anyone know where he will be. He rented a beach house where he used to spend summers as a kid to relax and have some time to get away from the constant spotlight. Only someone else is there as well.
Sky doesn't recognize Dylan for who he is because she really isn't into the music scene and Dylan enjoys being treated as a normal guy. Sky acts different around him than normal girls. She doesn't hang all over him, she has an attitude that she isn't afraid to throw his way, and he feels like he can just be himself around her. Something he is really needing at the moment.

Sky and Dylan spend time together getting to know one another and becoming closer as they spend their vacay together.
But happens when Sky finds out who he really is and how his life is in reality? Will she be able to accept his life or will it be too much?

If you can deal with a cliffhanger, and a major WTF moment at the end I would definitely give this one a try.

Got this as a freebie & it was really good.

Much as I love all the Americana it was actually quite refreshing to read a book based in the UK. Happy days in Cornwall eating fish and chips and scones. Ice cream running down your arm - freezing your butt off on the beach.

Dylan Morgan rock star in hiding, he could run into my rear end any day. I meant in his car gutter snipes which is where the story starts. Grumpy git meet heartbroken jilted girl.

Big build up of sexual tension. Will they? Won't they? Then lots of tooing and froing. Some of that made me quite cross with Sky.

Then the big bombshell drops. It's a stunner. Cue me being cross with Sky again. There are 2 sides to every story and I really want to get Dylan's side of it.

I need to see happiness for Dylan so I will have to buy book 2.
I'd give a complete story a 4 star but this leaves you hanging so it gets an automatic one. Author can write. Story was good until I got cheated out of an ending. It's written in British English so if that bothers you be warned. Wasn't hard to follow though and,flowed well until cliffhanger.
I really enjoyed this story. I usually like the heroine of the story the most but I actually liked the hero of this story more. He was charming, sweet, insightful, and a lot of fun to read about. I love when the male lead is mysterious, without being arrogant and are sweet, without being too mushy. Dylan, in my opinion, was a well-written book character and I loved reading about him. Sky was also a great character and I think a lot of people can relate to her. She's still finding herself and spent a good portion of her life with someone who didn't value her. I'm happy she found Dylan, but that cliffhanger at the end shocked me. Can't wait to see what the future holds for both characters!

When she travels to Broadbeach, a place she often went to as a child, her happy place, she comes face to face with her match, Dylan Morgan.

Dylan Morgan is a rock star who's tired of the fame. What's the point in being famous when you're told who to be, where to go, and how to feel? Plus, he feels overwhelmed with a secret he's been hiding for years. So he goes to Broadbeach, where happy childhood memories took place. He just needs to take a breather and find himself again. And when he sees Sky, he realizes how lost he really was. She's his summer sky, come to save him, and she doesn't even know that he's famous.

Dylan wants Sky. Sky just wants one summer. Will love prevail? Or will everything fall apart when secrets come into light?

I really enjoyed this book! The chemistry between Dylan and Sky was electrifying. I knew they were perfect for each other the moment they both met. They are both tried of being the people other people want them to be and just want to find themselves. Little did they know that only together can they do that. I seriously loved this book and I recommend this book to everyone who enjoys a good romance novel.

Tired of really good books being broken up for greed. I won't lie and say I didn't love this book, but I will not buy the last 100 pages so the author can get more money. So no ending equals 2 stars.
