This series really is a grower, each book takes us just a little deeper into not just the world of the Tribe, but also into the complex relationships between characters. Velli may be one of the most irritating yet wonderful women I have ever read about, I find myself alternatively frustrated by her poor decision making and fascinated by her thought processes, especially when it comes to her secret keeping.In this fourth book , we delve a little more into the world of science and technology, as Velli seeks to help her friend John ,while developing a relationship with the daughter she thought she had lost, and caring for her young son. Since this is not enough to keep her busy, she also finds herself agreeing to help a mystical Raven, despite not entirely trusting him, and soon finds that she will have to blend magic and science in ways she has never even dreamed of.
There is so much happening in this book that I found myself reading it in record time, every time I went to put it down ,something else happened and I needed to know what would happen next. I was also pleased to see some real character development, especially among some of the smaller background characters, and as for that ending...well all I will say is I fear some truly trying times ahead for Velli, Kane and their expanding family.

I love this series, but this book left me a little disappointed. The was very exciting and it kept me interested. I just felt that there were some parts that were a little confusing and could have used more explanation.
Before me review, I would like to give this Author huge props. I love this series and every book has blown me away. I really hope his series is never ending 😀
Vels and Kane have settled into their family and Vels is an awesome mother. She has finally found peace and holds her family close. When John calls to let her know the Raven wants to meet, she is her sassy self and replays exactly how I knew she would. John also needs her help and she has to get to the bottom of the issue between him and his lion. She doesn't want to leave the safety of the reservation, but she knows she has to. With Reed and Noelle's family addition and the unknown of leaving, she seeks Kane's opinion. Upon arrival at the Sanctuary, she learns first hand that John is worse than she thought and Kai and Derek desperately have to fix their relationship or move on.
Amidst all these issues, Morgan decides to make an appearance and attacks Kimi and Aidan.
The Raven is stubborn and demands Vels help with his issue. She is pulled in every direction but Vels is a strong woman and she handles each one of the issues. She is stressed yes but Kane centers her to her core. Each situation is a perplexed and the outcomes will shock you.
I wanna hear more about Morgan. I can't wait for the next book.
