Donna Hatch is quickly becoming a favorite author of mine. I've read all her regencies and was excited to see what her fantasy world would be like. I wasn't disappointed, it was clear that Hatch put a lot of thought into creating her world of Arden and the surrounding countries, as well as all the new and interesting creatures that roamed the land. Princess Jeniah was very believable and consistent. While her character did grow throughout the story, I still felt like she stayed true to herself, she was just given more opportunities to show her character throughout her trials. I liked that she was smart and could take care of herself, and was also still vulnerable and wasn't afraid to get help. I am definitely a fan of Kai (Team Kai), he was a great hero and I loved watching him fall in love with Jeniah, they had great chemistry together. I really enjoyed their story. I'm pretty sure this is a stand-alone novel, which I liked. It was nice entering their world and having some satisfactory conclusions at the end. However, it also would have been nice if it had been a trilogy and some things dragged out a little more, either way it's a great read and I recommend it to anyone who enjoys a good romantic fantasy.

Queen in Exile Donna Hatch 9781935217633 Books Reviews

I absolutely loved this book!! I have read it twice. I might just read it a third time. I love the style of Donna Hatch's writing. This book kept me up all night! Couldn't put it down. I can NOT wait for another Hatch book. She is absolutely my new FAVORITE author!!! My three daughters have read this as well and love it!!!!
I've just started reading Donna Hatch's books this year and I can't read them fast enough. This book "Queen in Exile" has all the the things that make up a great romance novel. Great characters, you can feel the pull they have for each other without the smut. Lots of action! I have since bought all Donna's books and I'm waiting for more.
This is the first Donna Hatch book I have read and I thoroughly enjoyed it! I can't wait to read more from this author. I was a bit skeptic after reading the back of this book about whether I would like it or not but I am SOOOO glad I read it! I thought it was VERY well written and had a GREAT story-line. Loved the characters and the adventure! A clean, beautiful, love story....along with fantasy and adventure! Great book!
This was a fun change in genre for me. Donna nails it with fantastic characters that are forced to grow, adapt, and see the world through different eyes. She takes so many contradicting aspects of the story- cultures, environments, characters, even politics- and blends them together to create a vibrant and memorable tale.
Loved the different aspect of bringing a little fantasy to this novel. This was another book I couldn't put down!! It was fast paced, and kept your attention the whole way through. This was by no means a quick happily ever after. The trials and struggles seemed realistic, and the way they overcame each and every obstacle made me enjoy this even more. If you are a fan of Donna Hatch's this is another book you can read and re-read over and over again.
One of my new favorites! This book quickly stole my attention and would not let it go! Queen in Exile is a clean, adventurous novel for anyone who enjoys a good romance. And mmm mmm, Kai Darkwood is something hot and dreamy! Oh my, there was romantic tension. The characters were masterfully developed; I felt their pain and cheered them on every step of the way! Queen in Exile promises a captivating romantic journey with an intensely satisfying ending. I'm definitely reading more Donna Hatch books now.
I've read a few books written by Hatch. She writes great Regency novels, and now I have to say fantasy/romance as well. I was intrigued with this story the minute I picked it up.

Jeniah is a princess, and due to circumstances I can't talk about without ruining the story, she has to flee her kingdom--her life and the fate of her kingdom depends on it. Kai, a knight sworn to protect her, escapes with her, and as you can imagine the two fall in love--but he's a knight, and she becomes the queen. So, what will happen??? To find out, you've got to read the story.

The story was well written, and there were no sex scenes...just a few passion scenes. Hatch kept me reading when I had a thousand other important things to do. That's the sign of a good book, right?

I've read this story a couple of times already, and will read it again.
